Golden jubilee is a landmark age, and for a man of humble beginning who has risen to prominence by dint of hard work, discipline and selflessness, it is worth a golden salute.

Born on September 15, 1970 to the family of Pa Simeon Oguejiofor of Umunwankwu kindred, Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State, Chief Austin Oguejiofor, Onwa Tifoluchi Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, was a precocious child who stood out head and shoulder among his peers. His sense of purpose and industry, imbibed early in life, is the hallmark of Chief Austin Oguejiofor’s remarkable life story.

On completing his early education, he set sights on business and underwent successful tutelage under vintage masters who horned his skills to enviable heights. Thereafter, Chief Oguejiofor set out on his chosen path as Chairman/CEO of Rotech Energy Services Limited, an energy and real estate services group of companies.

With perseverance as manager of men and resources, Chief Oguejiofor soon excelled and established one of the most sought after real estate companies, with estates in Abuja FCT and parts of Northern Nigeria.

Like a gold fish with no hiding place, Chief Oguejiofor’s empathy, philanthropic nature attracted many recognitions and honours across the country which he consistently declined out of modesty.

However, it took the prodding of notable kinsmen to break his resolve for preference of quietude from the limelight. Subsequently, he was conferred with the traditional title of Ònwa Tifoluchi Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri in recognition of his contributions to the development and progress of the town.

For a man whose traditional title is an affirmation of his trail blazing abilities and amazing philanthropy, patrons and beneficiaries of his benevolence could not be dissuaded from further adorning him with traditional titles. Thus, the title of Okutalukwe n’Aguleri was thrust at him, in honour and recognition of his philanthropy across frontiers.

With the advent of Chief Willie Obiano’s administration and the Akuluo Unò policy, it would have been a surprise that a big player like Rotech Energy Services is not visible in the Anambra real estate landscape. Fortunately, the resolve of Chief Oguejiofor has seen Rotech enter Anambra state with a bang as promoters of the Anambra State Luxury Place Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) template.

Today, Rotech Energy Services Limited owns 82% equity worth eleven point five million dollars in The Anambra Luxury Place Estate, while Anambra State owns 18% equity being the cost of 50 hectares of land valued at two point five million dollars. Thanks to the commitment of Chief Oguejiofor, the first Smart City in Anambra State has turned a reality, now selling like hot cake.

There is no gain restating the many lives that this amazing philanthropist and family man has positively impacted both in employment, business grants, scholarship awards and apprenticeship. Asked what inspires him, Onwa Enugwu-Ukwu quietly remarked, quote: “life is a stage and by the grace of God I play my part and leave the rest to posterity”. End of quote.

Friends, beneficiaries and compatriots are therefore urged to join voices and wish Chief Austin Oguejiofor, Onwa Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, Okutalukwe n’Aguleri Happy Birthday and deserving fifty golden salutes. Fifty hearty cheers to Onwa, Hip, Hip, Hip…Hurraaaay!
